Antwerpen, Belgium
projectThe Luno masterplan for the city of Antwerpen intercepts the existing green areas expanding them in the site. Manipulating the site and the brief, the built volumes unfold and a green courtyard is created between the street and the houses.
The high level of noise from the street in fact wouldn't allow the construction of houses on that site. Questioning the program, we design an inhabited screen which becomes the bike deposits infrastructure and which faces .
On the opposite side and facing the park the housing complex creates a more traditional space, characterized by the using of the traditional brick but translated in contemporary as used as a close wall or a screen from light.
The typology is usually characterized by a huge passing space which allows transversal ventilation and faces the green on both sides.
